Basic Affiliate Marketing Plan - Step #1

The first basic affiliate marketing step is to find a topic for your website. Your topic has got to be:

  1. Something you LOVE - If you love the topic, writing lots of information-packed content pages becomes an easy pleasure instead of work. Think "passion" and "knowledge" - if you have it, it will shine in your content.
  2. In Demand - You want a large number of people searching for information on your theme because that will mean more visitors to your website - and potential to make more money.
  3. Profitable - It takes the same amount of work to create a losing website as it does to create a "cash cow." Make sure it's got lots of ways to make money - before you start building.

How to pick a topic:

Write down 5 potential topics - remember they can be anything like Puppies, Traveling to Rome, Video Games, Improving Your Golf Swing - anything! Just write them down...

Now circle the topics that you really LOVE. Maybe it's just one or all 5 - just do it.

Great... You're almost there...

Search your topic on Google.com and look at the number of the results in the top right corner of the page. If the number is in the millions - you've got the demand required.
